Air
The national airline
is Air China (CA). Travellers should ensure that they reconfirm
their return flight reservations, as overbooking by airlines
has led to people being stranded in China. It is advisable
to purchase international air tickets well in advance if travelling
in May, September or October.
International
Airports: Shanghai
Hongqiao (SHA) airport is 70 km southeast of Suzhou (travel
time is 60 minutes). Shanghai Pudong (PVG) airport is 140
km east of Suzhou (travel time is 120 minutes).
Departure Tax: RMB 90 for international
and RMB 50 for domestic flights. These costs are already included
in the cost of tickets. Children under 12 are exempt. |
