Wuhou Temple (Temple of Marquis Wu) located in the south-western
section of Chengdu is dedicated to the memory of both Liu Bei,
and Zhuge Liang, Emperor and Prime Minister (respectively) of
the Kingdom of Shu.

The Giant Panda
Breeding Research Base is located on the mountain of Futoushan
in the northern suburbs of the city. Here, the Giant Panda
Museum collects and shows nearly everything known of the Giant
Panda. The best time to visit is in the morning, 8:30 to 10am,
which is during feeding time.
Du Fu's Thatched
Cottage
The Thatched Cottage
of Dufu was the residence of Dufu (lived during the Tang Dynasty)-one
of China's most famous poets. After fleeing to Chengdu in
refuge, Du Fu wrote more than 240 poems which are regarded
today as masterpieces in poetry. This historical site is over
16 hectares in size and has bamboo groves, small streams and
bridges, and more.

Changing of the Sichuan Opera
As one of the
major opera schools in China, the Sichuan Opera has a long
history. It originated at the end of the Ming Dynasty and
the beginning of the Qing Dynasty. Sichuan Opera is well-known
in China and is characterized by solo singing, skillful acting,
rich percussion, and incredibly funny comedies. Special characters
use stunts such as quick mask changes, jumping through burning
hoops, and hiding swords.
Wenshu Monastery
Besides a great
vegetarian restaurant, this monastery is a great, relaxing
place to go for a day. In the summer time, thousands of people
come here to enjoy tea and enjoy the warm weather. This Zen
Buddhist Monastery is easily the best-preserved temple in
Chengdu and is nice to just stroll about, looking at the many
rock gardens and bonsai trees.
